The Ghost of Eastry Church

This photograph was taken in 1956 when only the man taking the photo and the cleaning lady were in the church. It was only when he developed his film that he realised that they were not alone that day.

The photo shows what appears to be a man of the cloth in one of the pews.

Wem Town Hall - Ghost Girl

In 1677 Wem Town Hall was accidently burned down by 14 year old Jane Churm when she accidentally dropped a candle. Locals maintain that her ghost has haunted the Town Hall ever since, over her guilt for those who died. This rumour was not taken seriously until 1995 when Wem Town Hall once again caught fire. An onlooker snapped a photograph of the burning building but it was not until the picture was developed that she discovered a girl amidst the flames.

The photograph clearly shows a young girl inside the burning building despite nobody seeing her at the time. The photograph has been proven to be untouched and unaltered.

Tulip Staircase Ghost

This photograph was taken by Rev. Ralph Hardy in 1966 when he was taking a picture of the Tulip Staircase in the National Maritime Museum in London. This is a famous location for ghostly sightings and many people have reported hearing footsteps, slamming doors and children's voices. People have also said that they have been touched and even pinched by unseen hands.

The events have been attributed to a maid that was thrown from the top of the staircase and fell to her death. This may also explain the sighting of an apparition that was seen mopping up blood from the bottom of the stairs.

Boothill Cemetery Ghost

Terry Ike Clanton and his friend wanted no more than an 1880's style black & white picture in period clothes. So they headed to Boothill Cemetery appropriately attired in Old Western gear and armed with a black and white camera. The shoot went smoothly and Clanton went to get his pictures developed.

Clanton (a cousin of the old Clanton Gang, involved in the famous gunfight at the OK Corral) was shocked when he seen the figure in the background of his photograph. There were no other people present at the time but clearly in the background a menacing figure can be seen emerging from the within the graveyard. Clanton a previous skeptic has since changed his views on ghosts.

Denise Russell's Grandfather

Denise Russell visited her grandmother in the late Summer of 1997 in a care home. There were a few photographs taken and this was one of them.

Her grandmother died some time later and over Christmas 2000 the family were browsing some old photographs and happened upon this one again. It was then that they noticed the man in the background.

The family were stunned as they recognised the man as Denise's Grandfather. However they cannot explain his appearance as her grandfather has passed away in 1984.

Mabel Chinnery's Mother (The Back Seat Ghost)

Mrs. Mabel Chinnery was visiting the grave of her mother in 1959 along with her husband. Mabel took a camera with her to photograph the gravesite. When she was finishing up she took an impromtu picture of her husband who was waiting alone in the car.

When she had the photographs developed she noticed that maybe her husband was not on his own. Sitting in the back-seat was someone who resembled Mrs. Chinnery's mother.

Experts agree that the photograph is genuine and not a reflection or double exposure. Could this be her mother sitting in the back seat?

The Newby Church Ghost

This photograph was taken by Reverend K. F. Lord at Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England in 1963.

All efforts to prove that this photograph was somehow faked have proven fruitless, including a double exposure. The church had no previous history of haunting and yet the presence of this nearly ten foot tall ghostly figure cannot be explained.

Victor Goddard's Squadron - Freddy Jackson Appears For His Photo

This is a portrait of Victor Goddard's Squadron, taken in 1919.

Training Facility of HMS Daedalus

It shows the squadies grouped together with one additional friendly face. Behind one of the officers in the picture is the face of an air mechanic named Freddy Jackson.

The only problem is that Freddy Jackson had died two days earlier in an accident with an airplane propellor.  

His funeral was on the day the photograph was taken.
